The DIY market has found a way to make a cheaper Powerwall. Using old laptop batteries and recycling them it can be more affordable than a Powerwall from Tesla. A Powerwall is able to provide electricity after a power-out or to save on the power bill. An array of solar panels can charge the Powerwall and then at night it uses the batteries for power.

In order to fight global warming aka climate change it may be possible to switch off coal powered electricity to the Powerwall or other devices.
