It used to be that Newegg was the place to go on the Internet to get good deals on computer equipment. Computer Geeks was another company but NewEgg and Amazon put them out of business. Microcenter also had lower prices than Newegg and a policy to match Newegg prices.
Most of the computer and electronic parts sold on Newegg came from China anyway, so it only makes sense that they sell out to a Chinese company. As China prints more money to loan to the USA at a low rate, Chinese companies are starting to buy out US companies. Almost every computer, electronics, smartphone, a tablet is made somewhere in China.
Circuit City, Comp USA, Computer City, and other places went out of business around the time of the Windows Vista flops, as they had too many copies of Windows Vista and Windows Vista machines were not selling. Newegg sold motherboards and other parts without an OS and customers could buy a copy of an older Windows from Newegg instead of Vista, so they avoided that.
China is going on to become another superpower, and copying things from the USA to grow their economy.
If I remember Newegg was named after Egghead employees left to found their new company. If anyone remembers Egghead stores before they went out of business.
